Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the suitability level and carrying capacity of the mangrove ecotourism area, and to formulate its development strategies at Mangrove Point, Nusa Lembongan, Klungkung Regency. The research methods used include field surveys, mangrove vegetation observations, tourist interviews, and analyses using the Tourism Suitability Index (TSI), Area Carrying Capacity (ACC), and the DPSIR (Drivers, Pressures, States, Impacts, and Responses) framework. The results indicate that the TSI values at all observation stations fall into the highly suitable category (2.40–2.78), supported by high mangrove thickness and density, as well as the diversity of mangrove species and associated biota. The area carrying capacity shows a maximum capacity of 276 people per day for sampan and canoe tours. The DPSIR analysis indicates that pressure on the ecosystem remains relatively low, but has the potential to increase alongside tourism growth. Therefore, development strategies need to focus on controlling visitor numbers, regulating tourist activities, and strengthening the role of local communities to maintain the sustainability of mangrove ecotourism.
