About the Journal

JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer) p-ISSN 1979-5661 | e-ISSN 2622-321X is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Informatics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Udayana University, since 2008. It publishes high-quality computer science articles twice a year, in April and September, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, networking, security, software engineering, and human-computer interaction. JIK was accredited at rank SINTA 4 by SINTA DIKTI, but in 2026 it is no longer accredited.

EDITORIAL POLICIES

Open Access Policy

All articles published by JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer) are made available worldwide under an open access license. This means everyone has free and unlimited access to the full text of all articles published in JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer), and everyone is free to re-use the published material if proper accreditation/citation of the original publication is given. Open access publication is supported by the authors' institutes or research funding agencies by payment of a comparatively low Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted articles.

Focus and Scope

JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer) focuses on the theory, practice, and methodology of all aspects of technology in the field of computer science and engineering. It provides an international publication platform to boost the scientific and academic publication of research in the field.

Submissions are invited concerning any theoretical or practical implementation of algorithm design, methods, and development. The subject of articles contributed may cover, but is not limited to:

History of The Journal

JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer) was first published on Friday, May 9, 2008 (p-ISSN 1979-5661) by the Informatics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, as a peer-reviewed journal focusing on computer science research. Initially accessible via http://ilkom.unud.ac.id, the journal later obtained its e-ISSN 2622-321X on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 and migrated to an Open Journal System platform at http://ojs.unud.ac.id/index.php/jik. JIK is published twice a year (April and September) and covers areas such as artificial intelligence, networking, security, software engineering, and human-computer interaction. The journal was accredited at SINTA 4 by SINTA DIKTI, but as of 2026 it is no longer accredited. In the same year, JIK migrated again to a new platform at https://ejournal3.unud.ac.id/index.php/jik.

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts must be free from content that contains plagiarism. Authors are advised to use plagiarism detection software to check for similarity of content. The editor detects plagiarism in articles submitted in the JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer) using the Turnitin tool (www.turnitin.com) with a maximum similarity of 20%.

Articles must be original, have never been published, and are not in the process of waiting for publication in other journals. As for the material taken orally from other sources, it is necessary to clearly identify it so that it will produce a manuscript that is different from the original text. If plagiarism is identified, the editor-in-chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will take action according to the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines: Plagiarism Level Type 1: Plagiarizing short sentences from other articles without citing the source. Action type 1: Authors are warned and advised to correctly change the text and quote. Type 2: Plagiarize most articles from other sources without proper citation and not citing the source. Action type 2: Articles the author has submitted will be rejected for publication in the JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer). The author may also be subject to sanctions for not being allowed to republish his manuscript in this Journal.

All article authors are responsible for the content of the articles they submit to the JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer). If the article submitted by the author falls into the category of plagiarism, then all the authors of the article will get the same action. Suppose the author is proven to submit a manuscript to the JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer) and also other journals simultaneously, where this overlap is known during the review process or after publication. In that case, it will be subject to action according to type 2. to impose sanctions in accordance with the policies of the JIK (Jurnal Ilmu Komputer) Journal editorial team.
