Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to SOROT must follow the guidelines below and also refer to our Focus and Scope. These represent the minimum required standards for manuscript submission and acceptance.

1. Originality and Language

  • Manuscripts must be written in Bahasa and be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

  • Submissions must be free of plagiarism and checked for originality before acceptance.

2. Article Types and Length

  • Full-length Articles: Between 6,000–8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

3. Abstract and Keywords

  • All manuscripts must include:

    • An English abstract (200- 250 words).

    • Five (5) keywords following the abstract.

4. Referencing and Citations

  • Use a reference management tool such as mendeley, Zotero, or Endnote to ensure proper formatting.

  • Manual referencing is accepted, but authors must ensure accuracy and consistency between in-text citations and the reference list.

  • All references must follow APA 7th edition style.

5. Language Quality

  • Manuscripts written  must be proofread and edited prior to submission.

  • SOROT does not accept submissions that do not meet minimum Bahasa language standards.

  • Authors retain copyright and publishing rights, included grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-SA) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
