Abstract

The declining interest of younger generations in the agricultural sector poses a significant challenge to agricultural sustainability in Indonesia. One potential strategy to address this issue is the development of agricultural edutourism. This study aims to assess the potential of the Practical Land of SMK PP Negeri Mataram in Sigerongan Village as an agricultural edutourism area. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and literature review. The analysis focuses on physical and biophysical, social, and tourism aspects using the 4A approach: attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary services. The results indicate that the site has strong potential for development. The physical and biophysical conditions include relatively flat topography, fertile soil, and diverse agricultural commodities that support agricultural edutourism activities. Socially, the availability of competent human resources, along with support from educational programs and regional policies, enhances development feasibility. From a tourism perspective, the site offers attractive features such as scenic agricultural landscapes, diverse farming sectors, and local cultural traditions, including the Perang Topat tradition, which can be developed as educational attractions. Additionally, its proximity to Mataram City improves accessibility for visitors. In conclusion, the Practical Land of SMK PP Negeri Mataram has strong prospects to be developed as an agricultural edutourism area that supports Teaching Factory (Tefa) learning activities.
