Evaluasi Penerapan Konsep Kota Hijau Menggunakan Asian Green City Index di Kota Denpasar

A city is an area characterized by a high population density, where the
majority of land has been developed and economic activities are
predominantly dominated by the non-agricultural sector. The concept
of transforming cities into green cities has also been implemented in
Indonesia, driven by rapid and uncontrolled urban growth. This study
examines the evaluation of the implementation of the green city
concept in Denpasar City. The objective of this research is to evaluate
the performance of Denpasar City in implementing the green city
concept based on the Asian Green City Index (AGCI) with eight
indicators. This study employs a quantitative research method using
field observations, interviews, and literature review techniques. The
final results are presented in the form of spatial data and descriptive
statistical analysis. The research findings indicate that Denpasar City
was assessed based on eight performance indicators, namely energy
and CO₂ emissions, land use and buildings, transportation, waste
management, water, sanitation, air quality, and environmental
governance. The recommendations provided include recomendation
for each criterion. The implementation score of the AGCI in Denpasar
City reached 68%, which is categorized as above average. This
indicates that Denpasar City has successfully implemented the green
city concept at a level above the average. However, this achievement
also requires continuous improvement in policies and community
behavior to further realize a sustainable and green urban environment.
