Abstract

Soil quality is the capacity of the soil to maintain plant productivity and water availability. Most farmers manage their land without considering the existing spatial diversity, resulting in fertilizer waste, decreased profits, and negative impacts on the environment. This problem can be addressed through precision agriculture, which can be applied using geographic information systems to facilitate land management. This study aims to determine the quality and spatial distribution of soil physical properties, namely texture, porosity, and field capacity, in Subak Jaka, Tabanan. The methods used were surveys and laboratory tests to analyze the physical properties of the soil. Sampling was carried out using the gridding method and SyS, resulting in 29 samples that were then mapped using Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW). The quality of Subak Jaka soil physical properties showed clay-textured soil with an average content of 21.06% sand, 31.74% silt, and 45.43% clay, porosity of 59.95%, and field capacity of 39.46%. The spatial distribution of soil physical properties quality in Subak Jaka is dominated by clay fraction with class values of 40.0–55.0%, silt fraction 17.5–35.0%, sand fraction, porosity 60.0–65.0%, and field capacity 40.0–45.0%.
