Abstract

The coffee business in Pupuan has great potential, farmers face several challenges, namely workload
and worker fatigue which are often the main causes of work accidents. Coffee processing workers at
UD. Cipta Lestari stated that they experienced back pain, arm pain, and joint and muscle problems.
Based on these problems, this study aims to determine the level of workload and fatigue for workers
and identify strategies that can reduce worker fatigue in processing coffee at UD Cipta Lestari Pupuan
Bali. The research method used is a quantitative method with a survey. The population in this study
were 11 workers and the sample was the 10 people (Purposive Sampling). Assessment of physical and
mental fatigue using the Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS) questionnaire method. Mental workload
assessment using the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX)
method and using physical workload measurements with Cardiovascular Load (CVL) calculations. The
results of this study indicate that the score on the calculation of physical workload with an average CVL
shows a figure of 9.95% and for the mental workload score with the NASA-TLX questionnaire reaches
67.5 with a high mental workload category. The average FAS questionnaire for worker physical fatigue
is at 2 based on questions 1-5 with the interpretation of "sometimes". The average mental fatigue is at 2
from questions 6-10 which also shows the interpretation of "sometimes". Thus, from the results of this
study it is concluded that workers at UD Cipta Lestari Pupuan Bali have a high mental workload and
workers also feel tired but not continuously.
