Effect of Plastic Thickness used on Nursery Building on the Growth.of Purple Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) Antaboga F1 Variety

Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a tropical plant in Asia (India and Burma). Seedlings of this plant are often carried out in the open area so that the growth of seedlings is not quite good. Nursery buildings are wrapped with plastic to avoid rain, reduce the excess light, and reduce pests and diseases that attack vegetable crops. The plastic thickness used as a shading gives greatly affects the intensity of light received by the eggplant. This research was conducted by covering the nursery building using plastic with a thickness of 0.04 mm, 0.08 mm, and 0.12 mm. The treatment gives a significant effect (P <0.05) on changes in conditions of growth and seedling growth, except for the wet weight of the seedlings. The wrapping treatment of the nursery using plastic with 0.08 mm thickness provided the best conditions and produced eggplant seeds with the best growth.
