Interact Between Percentage of RatPest Attack and Rice Fields Productivity Through the Approach of Aerial Photography

Rats are one of the pests that can harm farmers, as rodent attacks can reduce yields and even cause crop failure. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the percentage of rodent pest attacks and rice field productivity. The research stages included data collection, image processing analysis, regression analysis, validation, and accuracy calculation. Field data were obtained through aerial photography and harvest measurements. Image processing was conducted using Adobe Photoshop CS6 and MATLAB 2013, while regression analysis was performed in Microsoft Excel 2013 using linear, quadratic, and cubic polynomial regressions. The cubic polynomial regression provided the best fit, resulting in the equation:
y = -1.10⁻⁶x³ + 0.0003x² - 0.0218x + 0.6159
with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.9645, indicating that 96.45% of the variation in rice productivity can be explained by the percentage of rodent attacks. The error value of the equation was 8.17% for attack versus productivity.
