Flood Vulnerability in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Gunungkidul is one of the regencies in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. In 2020, Gunungkidul Regency experienced high rainfall intensity, which has the potential to cause flooding. This study aims to determine the potential level of flood vulnerability in Gunungkidul Regency and to create a flood vulnerability map. The analysis used a scoring and weighting method, assigning scores and weights to parameters such as rainfall, slope, elevation, soil type, and land use. The results show that Gunungkidul Regency has moderate rainfall ranging from 2,161 to 2,287 mm/year, covering 67,862.24 ha (45.69% of the area), flat slopes covering 50,037 ha (33.69%), elevations below 100 m covering 67,939.4 ha (53.48%), and Mediterranean soil covering 79,254.82 ha (53.37%). Land use is dominated by moorland, covering 56,228.93 ha (37.86%). Flood vulnerability was classified into three categories: approximately 62.58% of the area is low vulnerability, 35.51% is medium vulnerability, and 0.71% is high vulnerability.
