Publication Ethics Statement
Sita Ayana: Journal of Library, Information, and Culture is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles of transparency, integrity, and academic responsibility in scholarly publishing.
Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that their submitted manuscripts are original works and have not been published or submitted simultaneously to another journal. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be provided through appropriate citation and referencing.
Authors are responsible for:
- Presenting accurate and authentic research data;
- Avoiding plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and data manipulation;
- Ensuring that all listed authors have significantly contributed to the research;
- Disclosing any conflicts of interest related to the manuscript;
- Cooperating in the correction or retraction process if significant errors are discovered after publication.
Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope. Editors evaluate manuscripts without discrimination regarding race, gender, institutional affiliation, citizenship, or political belief of the authors.
Editors must:
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts;
- Ensure a fair and unbiased peer-review process;
- Avoid conflicts of interest in editorial decisions;
- Take responsive measures when ethical concerns or complaints arise.
Duties of Reviewers
Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts through constructive feedback.
Reviewers are expected to:
- Review manuscripts objectively, professionally, and within the assigned timeframe;
- Maintain confidentiality of the review process;
- Identify relevant published works that have not been cited;
- Inform editors of any potential conflicts of interest;
- Report suspected plagiarism or ethical misconduct.
Publication Ethics and Malpractice
The journal strictly prohibits:
- Plagiarism in any form;
- Duplicate or redundant publication;
- Data fabrication and falsification;
- Citation manipulation;
- Unethical research practices.
All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts found to violate ethical standards will be rejected or retracted if already published.
