Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines & Manuscript Formatting

To ensure a smooth peer-review and publication process, authors are kindly requested to format their manuscripts according to the following guidelines before submission.

Title & Author Information

  • Title: Maximum of 12 words, set in Arial, 14 pt, Bold.

  • Author Names & Affiliations: Written in Arial, 12 pt, Bold.

Abstract Specifications

  • Format: Set in Times New Roman, 11 pt, single-spaced, with 1.3 cm left and right indentations. Maximum length is 300 words.

  • Content: Must concisely cover the background, research/analytical methods, and key results/discussion.

  • Language Requirements: Abstract must be provided in both Indonesian and English.

    • For manuscripts written in Indonesian, place the Indonesian abstract first, followed by the English abstract (and vice versa for English manuscripts).

    • Example reference insertion in text: In rolling-sliding contact processes, a wet contact surface caused by trapped water can reduce adhesion contact [Chen et al., Wear 253 (2002)].

General Page Layout & Formatting

  • Font & Spacing: The body text must be written in Times New Roman, 12 pt, single-spaced, using a single-column layout.

  • Language: Manuscripts may be submitted in either Indonesian or English.

  • Document Setup: Prepared in MS Word on standard A4 paper.

    • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides (Top, Bottom, Left, Right).

    • Gutter: 0 cm.

    • Orientation: Portrait with Mirror Margins.

    • Layout: Different odd and even pages with Header at 0 cm and Footer at 1 cm.

  • Page Limit & Numbering: Maximum of 8 pages total (including references, figures, tables, and appendices). Pages must be numbered sequentially at the bottom right.

Headings & Hierarchy

  • Main Headings (Level 1): Must follow the provided template, typed in UPPERCASE, Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold.

  • Sub-headings (Level 2): Typed in Title Case (capitalizing the first letter of major words), Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold.

  • Note: Please avoid using third-level headings.

Equations, Symbols & Units

  • Equations: Must be clearly typed using the Equation Editor in MS Word (Math Style). Do not submit equations as image files. Ensure clear distinction between the number "1" and the lowercase letter "l", as well as zero "0" and the letter "O".

  • Numbering: Number equations sequentially in parentheses $(1)$ aligned to the right margin.

  • Units: Use the International System of Units (SI). If other units are necessary, include the SI equivalent in parentheses. Standard, widely accepted scientific symbols require no special explanation.

  • Variables: Set variables in Italics with numerical indices in Arial (e.g., $X_1, \dots, X_n$; $Y_i, i = 1, \dots, n$). Use a colon (":") to define variable meanings and an equals sign ("=") for values or equations (e.g., $N$: number of data points, $X = 1$).

Figures & Tables

  • Quality & Placement: All figures and tables must be of high resolution, embedded directly within the text body, and numbered sequentially using Arabic numerals.

  • Captions & Alignment:

    • Figures: Center-aligned, no outer border frame required. Captions are placed below the image.

    • Tables: Left-aligned. Captions are placed above the table in Times New Roman, 11 pt with Sentence case (e.g., Table 1. Table caption text). Column headers should also use Sentence case.

  • General Rules: Photographs, graphs, diagrams, and illustrations are all classified as "Figures". All text within figures must remain clear and readable even when scaled down to 50%. Include descriptive legends, and cite the source explicitly if adapted or quoted from elsewhere.

Mandatory Concluding Sections

  • CONCLUSION [Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold]

Draw insightful conclusions, broader generalizations, or well-established theoretical contributions. Avoid superficial summaries or generic statements suggesting further research without substantive findings.

  • ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS [Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold]

Acknowledge funding agencies, supporting institutions, or individuals who made significant contributions to the research.

  • REFERENCES [Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold]

Citations and references must be formatted in IEEE Style using reference management tools such as Mendeley or EndNote.
