Plagiarism, Similarity Index & AI Policy

Jurnal METTEK is strictly committed to upholding academic integrity and preventing scientific misconduct. All submitted manuscripts must represent original work that has not been published previously or submitted elsewhere simultaneously.

Plagiarism & Similarity Index Policy

• Screening Tool: Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal METTEK undergoes a mandatory similarity check using Turnitin prior to the peer-review process.

• Maximum Threshold: The maximum allowable overall similarity index is 20%, with no single source exceeding 3%.

• Action on Violations:

  • Manuscripts exceeding the allowed threshold will be sent back to the authors for revision or rejected immediately (Desk Rejection) depending on the severity of the overlap.

  • Both direct plagiarism and self-plagiarism (reusing one's own previously published text without proper citation) are strictly prohibited.

Policy on Generative AI & AI-Assisted Technologies

In accordance with international publication ethics guidelines (COPE and ICMJE), Jurnal METTEK adheres to the following rules regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI):

• Authorship Eligibility: Generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) do not qualify for authorship. Authorship carries legal and ethical responsibilities for the submitted work that AI tools cannot accept or fulfill.

• Permitted Use of AI: Authors may use AI tools solely to improve readability, language clarity, or technical formatting.

• Mandatory Disclosure: If AI tools were utilized in the creation of the manuscript (e.g., for data analysis, image generation, or language editing), authors must explicitly disclose their use in the Materials and Methods section or an Acknowledgements / Author Note statement detailing which tool was used and for what purpose.

• Author Accountability: Authors remain 100% accountable for the accuracy, scientific validity, integrity, and originality of all content, including any sections generated or refined by AI tools.
